Concrete questions, answered.
Pricing, process, materials, and warranty — what Northland homeowners ask us most.
Pricing
How much does a new concrete driveway cost in Platte County?
Most residential driveways in the Northland run $8–$14 per square foot for a standard broom finish, with stamped or decorative work running $14–$22 per square foot. Final pricing depends on tear-out, sub-base condition, thickness, and reinforcement.
How much does a concrete patio cost?
A typical 12x14 concrete patio runs $1,800–$3,200 for a broom finish; stamped patios in the same size run $3,500–$6,000. We quote on-site so you get an exact number.
Are quotes really free?
Yes. On-site visit, measurements, and written quote — all free, with no obligation.
Process
How long does a concrete project take?
Most residential driveways and patios are a 2–4 day project from demo to finished pour, plus the cure window before vehicle traffic.
Do you handle tear-out and haul-away?
Yes. Demo, dump fees, and clean-up are included in tear-out and replace pricing.
What's the lead time?
Typically 2–4 weeks from quote signing to pour day during peak season (April–October), shorter in shoulder months.
Materials
What thickness should my concrete be?
4 inches for residential driveways with cars, 5–6 inches with rebar for trucks, RVs, and commercial. Patios and sidewalks are 4 inches standard.
Do you use rebar or fiber mesh?
Either, depending on the application. Rebar for driveways, slabs that carry vehicles, and structural pours; fiber mesh for patios and lighter-use areas.
What PSI mix do you use?
Standard residential pours use a 4,000 PSI mix with air entrainment for freeze-thaw resistance. Commercial work goes higher.
Cure & Care
How long until I can walk on new concrete?
Foot traffic at 24 hours, light vehicles at 7 days, full design strength at 28 days.
When should I seal my concrete?
Wait at least 28 days after pour for the concrete to fully cure, then seal. We recommend resealing every 2–3 years in Missouri.
Should I use de-icer on new concrete?
Avoid de-icers in the first winter — they accelerate scaling on fresh concrete. Use sand for traction instead.
